Bursitis and the Health Benefits of Magnetic Copper Bracelets
Magnetic copper bracelets, bursitis and the health benefits of magnetic copper bracelets. Not surprisingly, a question often asked by those suffering from bursitis.Firstly, for those fortunate enough not to suffer with this painful complaint let me give a short and simple definition of bursitis. Why short and simple? That is easy. I am not and do not claim to be a trained medic. I only know from personal experience the discomfort caused by bursitis.
A bursa is a fluid filled sac that reduces friction around our joints. When the bursa becomes inflamed and swollen because the fluid inside is infected or irritated by too much movement, it causes pain, swelling and difficulty moving the affected joint.
It could be some repetitive movement we do in our job (in my case using the PC mouse), sport (tennis, golf) or one of our hobbies (kneeling when gardening). We are advised to wear knee pads when working in the garden and to walk away from our PCs at regular intervals to have a stretch. Do we listen? Yes, but take no action. After all, it does not happen to us does it? Oh yes it does and when it does we wish we had been sensible and taken preventative action.
What about the cure? Rest can be the simple cure. Take a careful look at your working and play habits. It is not always possible to totally change these practices but every little helps.
Placing an ice pack or bag of frozen peas (in a cloth please to avoid skin damage) on the area can help. Your GP may recommend anti-inflammatory drugs such as ibuprofen but these drugs are not always too kind on our digestive systems.
The next step taken by your GP could be having the bursa drained and injected with a corticosteroid drug to reduce the inflammation, or if infected, a course of antibiotics.
For those of us who would prefer not to take drugs is there an alternative? Copper bracelets have been worn for generations by arthritis sufferers. These copper bracelets have been enhanced by embedding powerful magnets.
If you are suffering discomfort, why not consider magnetic copper bracelets. Bursitis is something that affects many of us, especially as we grow older. You may be one of those people who benefit from the alleged healing properties of copper and magnets.
Fortunately for those who are style conscious there is now quite a variety of bracelets, rings, earrings and necklaces available with magnetic qualities.
Pregnant ladies and those fitted with a pacemaker should not consider magnetic therapy.
